In brief

What works, what to weigh

+

Strengths

3 reasons to book
  • Unbeatable location near the Colosseum — Guests consistently rate the location a 9/10 and describe it as a short walk from the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and other ancient sites. Many rooms offer views of the Colosseum.
  • Friendly and attentive staff — Numerous reviews highlight the staff's helpfulness, friendliness, and willingness to cater to guests' needs.
  • Clean, well-equipped rooms — Reviews mention clean and spacious rooms with modern amenities including flat-screen TVs, mini bars, safes, air conditioning, and some with jacuzzis and laptop-friendly workspaces.

Worth weighing

3 to weigh
  • Rooms and cleanliness score below other categories — While many reviews note cleanliness, the hotel's own rating for rooms and cleanliness is 7/10, the lowest category score. Some guests may find the standard double rooms basic.
  • Dining experience rated 7/10 — The breakfast is mentioned positively in several reviews, but the dining category score of 7 suggests it is not a standout feature. Options are limited to a bar/lounge area with no dedicated restaurant.
  • Overall rating below the Rome area average — The hotel's overall score of 7.8 is lower than the average for Rome (8.7), and its rank (15157 out of 18032) indicates it may not meet the expectations of travellers accustomed to higher-rated properties.

“The location was incredible, just off the Colosseum on Gay Street, with easy access to the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill as well as a supermarket. The Rione Monti district was worth exploring. Our superior queen room had a view and included a wake-up service, plus a jacuzzi bath and bidet that were very handy.”
